Culture plays an important role in the socio-economic development of any community. Programs being introduced or developed for a region or a community in most cases must take into consideration the local communities’ cultural practices lest the introduction of new programs face resistance from the community.
With this is mind the Foundation respects, appreciates and participates in the promotion of a community’s culture.
With support from bodies with interest in promoting culture the Foundation has over the years been a key sponsor of the annual Vihiga Cultural Festival – a show case of cultures within the region. The Foundation promotes the co-existence of different cultures by also sponsoring different cultural troops from outside the region to grace and participate at the Vihiga Cultural Festival festivities. This exchange of cultures is a helpful platform in building tolerance, appreciation and respect for each others cultural and practices.
