The foundation encourages parents and guardians to take advantage of the free primary school education initiative which was started in 2003 by the Government of Kenya and enrol all children, gender notwithstanding.
Guided by the fact “all children have a right to education” the foundation continues to give secondary and college bursaries to bright but needy children and contributes to fund raising projects geared towards the construction or expansion of schools.
The foundation’s founding member Hon. Musalia Mudavadi established the Sabatia Constituency Development Fund (SACODEF) in 1997 which to date has disbursed funds towards the education of many bright children. The fund is now autonomous from the foundation however the foundation continues to make its donations towards SACODEF’s educational fund.
The foundation has raised funds for the expansion of schools leading to the achievement of great results in the education sector. A good example is the Moses Mudavadi Primary School a co-educational boarding school built on 10 acres of land that was donated by the late Mudavadi’s family. The school began as a day school with 30 pupils however, with support from the Mudavadi Foundation through its trustee Musalia Mudavadi it is now a fully fledged boarding school with 1500 pupils.
